- Accounts Receivable Specialist
Description
This position is responsible for maintaining and managing the daily accounts receivable function of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office. Under the general supervision of the Finance Manager, duties include tracking and recording payments received in the department, resolving discrepancies, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices and maintaining accurate financial records. This position adheres to the agency’s core values of honesty and integrity, accountability, teamwork, trust and respect and commitment to excellence. To be successful in this position, the employee must demonstrate competency in data entry and retrieval skills, time management skills, basic to intermediate computer skills, general communication skills (both written and oral), inter-personal skills, customer service skills, problem solving skills and accounting skills. Starting salary negotiable based on education, experience, and technological skills.

Requirements
Eligibility Criteria:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or related field preferred; AND
- At least two years of work experience in an accounting, financial or professional office environment required; AND
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job; AND
- Proficiency in Quick-books and Microsoft Excel preferred.
Necessary Special Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, push, carry or pull a minimum of 25 pounds independently.
