- Crime Prevention Specialist
Description
The Crime Prevention Specialist is a civilian position which performs a variety of duties in support of the law enforcement functions and the agency as a whole. The majority of duties involve crime prevention education, coordinating and overseeing the Neighborhood Crime Watch program, commercial and residential surveying, community outreach and event participation, and Citizens Academy class engagement. This position adheres to the agency core values of honesty and integrity, accountability, teamwork, trust and respect and commitment to excellence. To be successful in this position, the employee must demonstrate competency in chose from these skills: data entry and retrieval skills, time management skills, basic to intermediate computer skills, general communication skills (both written and oral), interpersonal skills, customer service skills and problem-solving skills.

Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university required; OR
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Must possess a valid FL driver’s license with a good driving history.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends as necessary
- Must be able to lift, push, carry or pull a minimum of 25 pounds independently.
- Position will require travel to attend various meetings and functions related to performance of tasks.
