Description
JOB SUMMARY
This position is a highly visible non-certified civilian position in which the incumbent will serve as the main liaison between citizens and the Sheriff’s Office. The incumbent will be responsible for answering questions/inquiries, receiving and disseminate messages to agency personnel, providing telephonic and in-person multi-agency informational direction, and controlling/monitoring the entry and exit of visitors to the facility. Will also be required to monitor email accounts, phone lines, mail sorting, and handling walk-ins to the Citizen’s Center lobby. EOE/ADA
NOTE
It is understood that every incidental duty connected with operations enumerated in job descriptions are not always specifically described and personnel, at the discretion of the Sheriff's Office may be required to perform duties not within their job descriptions. This position is not eligible for an assigned agency vehicle.
Requirements
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES
High School Equivalent (Diploma/General Equivalency Diploma) required. Previous law enforcement experience preferred. General knowledge of operating a computer, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Above average writing skills is helpful for this position. Must maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License at all times. Unescorted CJIS clearance as authorized by FDLE is required.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The physical abilities listed below are estimates of time spent during a typical workday to perform essential functions and responsibilities. Members in this position may be required to:
Sit up to 7 hours per day
Stand up to 1 hour per day
Walk up to 1 hour per day
Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
Occasionally bend, squat, reach, kneel or twist
Other Requirements:
20/40 vision (corrected/uncorrected)
Ability to hear conversation at a normal level (assisted or unassisted)
Ability to work shift work
