Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible civilian position involving advance maintenance and repair of automotive/light truck and automotive type equipment. Also, the master technician provides leadership and direction to other members of the service department. Must also furnish own tools required for this position. EOE/ADA
Requirements
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required. Successful completion of an approved vocational school or technical training program, in addition to 6 years’ experience as a mechanic required. In lieu of completion of vocational school or technical training program, 8 years’ equivalent experience may be considered. Possession of ASE Refrigerate Recovery and Recycling Section 609 preferred or obtained within a month of hire. Possession of 6 ASE certificates preferred or obtained within 1 year of hire. Hybrid experience a plus. Must maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License at all times. Unescorted CJIS clearance as authorized by FDLE is required.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The physical abilities listed below are estimates of time spent during a typical workday to perform essential functions and responsibilities. Members in this position may be required to:
Sit up to 1 hour per day
Stand up to 6 hours per day
Walk up to 2 hours per day
Frequently lift up to 90 lbs.
Frequently bend, squat, reach, kneel or twist.
Other Requirements:
20/40 vision (corrected/uncorrected)
Ability to hear conversation at a normal level (assisted or unassisted)
Ability to work shift work
Ability to work in hazardous conditions
