Description
The class specification for the position of a Chief Aviation Mechanic for the Sheriff's Office requires a high level of technical and mechanical aptitude, along with specialized training. The Aviation Mechanic performs a variety of functions in support of the Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit including: Inspect Helicopters Regularly , Troubleshoot and Diagnose Potential Problems, Perform Necessary Helicopter Maintenance and Repairs, Communicate with Pilots, Make Recommendations for Maintenance, Repair, and Retirement of Helicopters. Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 Based on Experience
Requirements
24-48 months of practical turbine helicopter maintenance experience
FAA-approved Maintenance Technician Certification (A&P required and IA preferred)
Previous Aviation Experience (OH-58/206 Jet Ranger)
Previous Mechanic Experience (Microvibe System Familiarity preferred)
Must own a complete set of aviation quality hand tools
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Florida Driver’s License
Supervisory experience
