Description
Licensed Practical Nurse PRN (as needed)
Responsible for observing inmate/offender/detainee behavior patterns; screening inmate medical requests; responding to medical emergencies; performing triage; reporting infectious diseases to appropriate agencies/departments. Incumbent must also take vital signs, administer medications, inventory SHARPS; and manage chronic medical problems. Duties also include completing, updating, and submitting required reports/documents/forms.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the medical needs of inmates
- Dispense appropriate medication as directed
- Assist with medical assessments
- Processes applicable incoming and outgoing documents and/or files

Requirements
Minimum qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a current Florida LPN license and CPR certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Read, speak, and understand the English language
- Must pass an extensive background investigation including polygraph and drug test
- As-needed position covering 12 hour shift schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
